Day 85 of 100 days of Blogging
I was in the shower the other day when random thoughts began cascading from the water into my brain.
The social security numbers of my two husbands popped into my mind. The husband I divorced in 1987 and the husband who died in 2005. So much for losing our memory as we age. How random is that?
I started to think about numbers.
Is it repetition? Is it the age at which we first memorized the number?
My phone number in Dallas, Texas when I was in the 3rd grade: DI8-7998.
House numbers: 8129 Bullneck Road. The first house I bought.
Birthdates. Phone numbers of friends from before we had cell phones. My first personal growth seminar.
Random numbers.

123 Broadway. I know, that's cheating...
ReplyDeleteActually, as I think about it, I think numbers are a clever communication device with the less tangible network of LIFE. They are signs from soulmates who are no longer here. THey are messages from The Universe/God/Wise Self - just a little tickler to get me to pay attention. Funny thing is, we grew up ANALYZING them. Maybe they are more like flowers to be observed and appreciated! What a thought!
ReplyDeleteI was really curious when both of my husband's soc security numbers appeared in my mind. Fascinating to think of all of the numbers rolling around in our heads. And then the fun with numbers on the clock like 11:11. Flowers to be observed and appreciated...I like that thought! Thanks Ellen!
